Just as i expected it AT&T has just announced the availability of a new anti-spam service that will allow users to flag and/or block all unwanted phone calls. The service is called AT&T Call Protect and it's free to all eligible AT&T customers with HD Voice.
The new solution takes advantage of AT&T's network to provide customers with automatic fraud blocking and suspected spam call warnings, the carrier explains.
Some of the light features of the service are available by default to all eligible AT&T customers, but for additional features, a third-party application called AT&T Call Protect must be downloaded on the smartphone.
With the application, users will have access to many improved features, including the ability to temporary block calls. In order to benefit from these features, users must add them through their myAT&T accounts or the AT&T Call Protect application.
“Nuisance calls are an industry-wide problem that unfortunately affect many people. We’ve listened to our customers and know they want a network that provides tools to proactively assist in blocking nuisance calls. AT&T Call Protect, along with others, will help put customers more in control of the calls they receive,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Device and Network Services Marketing, AT&T.

So, AT&T Call Protect offers automatic fraud blocking, thus reducing the chances for AT&T customers to become victims of a phone fraud or scam, as these types of calls are blocked in the network before they reach their phones.
Also, all suspected spam warnings on the incoming call screen will allow customers to choose whether or not they want to answer calls that come from a suspected spam source.
However, in order for this feature to work, AT&T customers must be in the HD Voice coverage area.
It's also worth noting that AT&T Call Protect is available to AT&T postpaid wireless customers with iOS or Android smartphones that are eligible for AT&T HD Voice.
