Like i do always say no dull moment nowadays. Microsoft is already working on the second Redstone update for Windows 10, but the company is planning in advance, and it turns out that the fourth release is already being looked into at the Redmond-based software giant.
A new report from WindowsCentral indicates that Windows 10 Redstone 4 is due in early 2018, and while there’s no confirmation in this regard, it aligns with previous rumors pointing out that Microsoft would launch two Windows 10 updates every year.
Next year, for example, Microsoft is projected to introduce the Redstone 2 update (officially called Creators Update) in early 2017, most likely in March, but also Windows 10 Redstone 3, which should land in the fall of next year.
Of course, it’s just too early to get a confirmation from Microsoft that such an update is in the works, as the next big thing for the company is Redstone 2 and it should go live in the spring.
Windows 10 Creators Update
Windows 10 Redstone 2, officially called Creators Update, is playing quite a key role for Microsoft, as it opens the door to 3D content, which seems to become a key focus for the software giant. Redmond wants every user to get access to the 3D world, so the Creators Update will include features specifically developed in this regard, including the new Paint 3D app that’s available in preview for Windows insiders.
Rumor has it that Redstone 2 will launch as version 1703, which is a direct hint at its release date, as Microsoft often uses versions whose numbers represent the year and month when a certain update goes live - in the case of the Creators Update, 17 represents the year (2017), while 03 is the month (March).
Microsoft itself confirmed that Windows 10 Redstone 2 would make its debut in “early 2017,” but specifics are not yet available.
