Lets Talk About: Alcatel Idol 4 With VR Goggles

Believe am not wrong. Alcatel unveiled the Idol 4 and Idol 4s in February this month, but it is only this summer that the smartphones will be made available. Idol 4 will be sold together with VR goggles included over at US carrier Cricket Wireless, starting August 5. Cricket Wireless has announced that it will be providing the Alcatel Idol 4 together with VR goggles starting August 5. The handset will carry a price tag of $199.99 plus tax, with activation on a smartphone plan. The company isn't offering annual contracts for this phone and states that the VR goggles will bring high-end form and function to the device.

This would be one of the cheapest handsets to come bundled with VR goggles. Users will be able to access VR content from Alcatel's VR Store and from VR content provider Littlstar. It's also important to note that Alcatel Idol 4 is available with all smartphone plans, which start at $35/month.

Alcatel Idol 4 was showcased during MWC 2016, together with Idol 4s. It comes in four different metal frames, namely gold, dark gray, rose gold, and metal silver. It's also worth knowing that the handset sports a 5.2-inch with Full HD resolution.

Alcatel's Idol 4 packs a 1.7GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, with Adreno 405 graphics processing unit. RAM capacity reaches 3GB, but only 16GB of internal memory are offered, with the option to expand to 512GB.

The smartphone has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie snapper. Aside from this, it draws power from a 2,610mAh battery and has a Boom Key button that activates various effects, like louder music or trigger burst mode in the camera. The handset runs Android Marshmallow 6.0, but it won't support Google's Daydream VR platform.

Alcatel Idol 4s is already available for pre-order for $350, and the price will go up to $400 when it launches on August 3.
