If you can still remember at the start of the
year, rumors suggested that Samsung was working on a new line of
smartphones aimed at the Chinese market. The new smartphones came with
mid-range specs but a premium feel in the form of Galaxy C5 and Galaxy
C7.
It seems that Samsung is now working on new iterations of the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7, namely the Galaxy C5 Pro and C7 Pro. SamMobile
reported that the new smartphones would come with noticeable
improvements to the previous ones, especially when it comes to specs.
The Galaxy C7 Pro will carry the code number
SM-C7010, while the Galaxy C5 Pro will have the model number SM-C5010.
They’re expected to have a similar design to their predecessors, but, as
mentioned above, the new models should come with more advanced specs
compared to the previous ones, especially since they will carry the Pro
moniker.
It’s quite unclear at this point if the smartphones
will be released in other markets besides China. The Galaxy C5 and
Galaxy C7 were only made available in China, without any plans of an
international release.
The Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 came with 4GB of RAM
The Galaxy C5 was
released with an all-metal case and a 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED
display. It ran Snapdragon 617 processor and had 4GB of RAM and 32 or
64GB of internal memory. It also had the option to add up to 128GB of
additional space and came with a 16MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture
and LED flash.
Aside from this, it had an 8MP front camera and ran
Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. It also came with a 2,600mAh
battery and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 for charging the phone faster.
The Galaxy C7
was announced on the same day in May and carried a 5.7-inch Super
AMOLED display and ran a more powerful Snapdragon 625 SoC with Adreno
506 graphics processing unit. It also had 4GB of RAM and 32 or 64GB of
internal storage.
Moreover, the smartphone had a fingerprint scanner
embedded in the home button and came with a 3,300mAh battery. It also
ran Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and had a 16MP rear camera with an 8MP
camera in the front.
