Lets Talk About: Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to Receive Update to Android 7.0 in October

Of course is no more news that Samsung finally on August 2 in New York. unveiled the Galaxy Note 7 during the Galaxy Unpacked event. And for many of you that are still not aware the smartphone comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, and the company has announced that it will update it to Android 7.0 Nougat when available.

In an interview with Korea Herald, Koh Dong-jin, President of Samsung Mobile, has stated that the Galaxy Note 7 could get the update to Android 7.0 Nougat in two to three months, which means that it could arrive sometime in October or November. The executive has also stated that the company wishes to build a stable and seamless platform for its users and to make sure that beta testing was extensive before releasing any OS updates.

Google is expected to release the new Android 7.0 Nougat this month or the next, with a September release being a bit more realistic. Two new Nexus smartphones will also debut around the same date, both manufactured by HTC and running Android 7.0 Nougat.

In addition, the first non-Nexus device to come with Android 7.0 Nougat will be LG's new flagship, the V20, set to be announced on September 6 in San Francisco.

The release date of the Note 7 has seen delays in many countries
It might seem that Samsung's estimation is a bit too optimistic, considering that the South Korean giant isn't known to provide timely OS updates. In fact, the company updated the Galaxy Note 5 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in February this year, after Google had released the OS version in September last year. Galaxy Note 5 smartphones offered by US carriers saw the update even later.

But before it can worry about OS updates on the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung should sort out the issue that it seems to have with supply not meeting demand for the Note 7. As it turns out, Samsung has decided to delay the smartphone's release date in multiple countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Malaysia Nigeria, and other countries could join the list soon.
